The beautiful artwork used in this tutorial is by Andrew Atoshenko. No copyright infringement intended as this artwork is being used for learning purposes only.

Filters are not included with the supplies.  If you use your own image the size should be 360x400. This tutorial works best with a single image on a busy background.  Colorize the pattern included with the supplies or make your own.

Download the supplies HERE

Open the artwork, 2 tubes, whimsybrush jpg and pattern in PSP. Put the selection in your selection folder. Activate the whimsybtbrush.jpg in PSP & Export Custom Brush - name it btwhimsy so you can find it when you need it.

Set up the Material Pallet –
Foreground Color #FFF3CA - light
Background Color #442711 - dark

Foreground Pattern – whimsybtPattern – angle 0 scale 100

Magic Wand Settings for this Tutorial
Replace – RGB Value – Tolerance 10 – Sample & Contiguous Checked – Feather 0 – Anti-alias Checked - Inside

Activate the artwork by clicking on the blue title bar.

Selections - Select ALL -Effects - 3D Effects - Inner Bevel

Repeat Inner Bevel Once

Selections – Select None

Image – Add Borders – 2 pixels – dark (background color)
Image – Add Borders – 20 pixels – any color not in your graphic
Select Border with Magic Wand –
Change your foreground material pallet to the whimsybt pattern
Left Click & Flood Fill with foreground Pattern (angel 0 scale 100)            


Selections - Select None

Image - Add Borders – 15 pixels - dark (background color)
Select Border with Magic Wand
Effects – Image Effects – Offset H/15 V/25 Custom & Repeat CHECKED

Effects – 3D Effects – Inner Bevel using the same settings as used before
Repeat Inner Bevel Once

Leave Selected
Right Click on Layer Pallet – Select Promote Selection to Layer on drop down menu


Image – Rotate – Free 180 Right all layers UNCHECKED

Image – Add Borders – Symmetric UNCHECKED 0 Top 0 Right / Bottom & Left 15 - Color Dark (background color)

Selections – Select All – Selections Modify – Contract 40 – Selections Invert
Effects- Geometric Effects – Cylinder Horizontal set at 20

Selections – Load from Disk – whimsy selection
Adjust – Brightness & Contrast

Selections - Select None

Image – Add Borders – 25 pixels Symmetric CHECKED Color dark (background color)
Right click on Layer Pallet – Select Duplicate from drop down menu

Highlight the ORIGINAL Background Layer to activate

Effects – Plugins – Italian Editors Effects – Picture in a Picture Miscela @196 Radio @136
Don't be concerned as you won't see the effects until the next step

Activate the COPY of Background Setting the Opacity between 56 & 76  Blend Mode Normal
NOTE - Opacity settings will depend upon the clarity of your monitor.  Use what works for you.

Keep the COPY of Background Layer Active
Selections – Select All – Modify – Contract 15 pixels

Right Click on Layer Pallet – Select Promote Selection to Layer from drop down menu
Your Layer Pallet should look like this

Flood Fill with whimsybtPattern
Selections – Modify – Contract 5 pixels
Hit Delete on your Keyboard

Selections – Select None

Right Click on Layer Pallet & Select Merge Visible from the drop down menu
Change the Magic Wand Settings to Tolerance 20
With the Magic Wand select the outside dark border

Effects – Plugins – Italian Editors Effects – Picture in a Picture - Same settings used previously Miscela @196 Radio @136

 

Mura’s Seemless – Emboss at Alpha
Settings   128   128   128   64   255  128

Selections - Select None

Image Resize to 427 x 461 pixels – All Layers CHECKED.

Activate the paint brush tool, locate the btwhimsy brush you exported at the beginning. Set the brush to size 303 Step 32 Density 100 Rotation 0 Opacity 100 Normal

Right click in Layer Pallet – New Raster Layer. Left click once with the light color in the center of the pattern between the inner frame. See completed image for placement.

Right click on the new brush layer on the Layer Pallet – Duplicate – Image Mirror. With the Mover Tool, slide the image to the right between the inner frame. Try not to move it up or down but rather straight across so that it lines up correctly with the left hand side brush.

Activate the whimsy flower tube, Edit, Copy, Activate your working image, Edit – Paste as a New Layer. Place the flower directly above the woman’s ear.

Activate the whimsydeco tube, Edit, Copy – Activate your wokring image, Edit-Paste as a New Layer. Place the deco tube on the left top corner inside the frame next to the woman’s hair. (The deco tube covers the visible portions of the extra arm). See completed image for placement. Set the deco layer Opacity at +/- 76 – Blend Mode normal.

Resize your completed image ALL LAYERS CHECKED to fit your project. Add your watermark & save in the format of your choice.
